General Introduction
Neurosurgery is a branch of medicine that deals with diseases that require brain, nerve and spinal cord operation.
Thanks to technological developments, pre-operative diagnosis possibilities have increased a lot
in recent years.
Our Neurosurgery Department offers service for you with our expert team in their field. The latest techniques and current diagnosis and treatment methods are applied in our hospital. If needed, our post-operative intensive care services in our hospital are modern in terms of both equipment and expert team.
The main diseases treated in our neurosurgery clinic are:
Cervical Disc Hernia: Complaints are pain, numbness and weakness in the neck, back, shoulder and arm. There might be pain, sensation defect and loss of strength. Early treatment includes resting, muscle relaxants, and painkillers. If the stated complaints continue, surgical intervention is performed after the definitive diagnosis (MR, etc.).
Spinal Disc Herniation: Complaints are back and leg pain, numbness in the legs, thinning and weakness. Early treatment includes resting, muscle relaxants and painkillers. If the stated complaints continue, surgical intervention is performed after the definitive diagnosis (MR, etc.)
Cerebral Hemorrhage: It is the condition in which the blood-fed region becomes inoperable as a result of blood leaking from one or more of the vessels feeding the brain. In general, symptoms such as headache, vomiting, change in consciousness, weakness in the body , and speech disorder occur. Cerebral Hemorrhage is diagnosed with Computerized Brain Tomography in our hospital.
Brain Tumor: Symptoms are headache, gushing vomiting, epileptic fainting spell. In advanced stages, paralysis symptoms and personality disorders in some parts of the body (depending on the region in the brain) and deterioration in some abilities might be seen.
In our hospital, brain tomography is done to view the encephalon and brain in order to make a definitive diagnosis as a result of such symptoms.
Brain tumors are treated by surgeries. In our hospital, all tumors, whether benign or malignant, are treated by surgeries.
